The White Hart is a family friendly country pub owned by McMullens Brewery, and is now independently managed by Jacqui Pugh.
Having been involved for many years in the corporate side of Sales & Customer Services, Jacqui felt the time was right to venture into a more hands-on business and contacted McMullens to find out about any existing opportunities. Having looked at a couple of other properties, The White Hart was mentioned as another possibility. Remember - this was purely a business decision... but from the moment of driving into the huge car park of The White Hart, it was more than that - it was love at first sight!
The site is enveloped by fields on two sides - there is a roomy, safe garden for families to enjoy summer days and a cute thatched canopy alongside a covered area for smokers. Walking into the bar - the smell of log fires, the inglenook fireplace with a lintel made of wood from a Viking ship, the stuffed head of a White Hart hanging on the wall - all served to reinforce that original feeling of goosebumps and of being somewhere very special.
Although Jacqui is the sole manager & licensee of the premises, she also has her family living with her - husband Alan runs his own business as a Decorator, daughter Steevi is studying Animal Behaviour at university in Manchester (and working in the pub at holiday times!) and son Kris is still at school. There is also the family puppy, a lovely German Shepherd called BUD!
